Acid Etch

This Acid Etch Solution is a blended pre-treatment for power floated or new smooth concrete floors. The process opens the pores of the concrete so primers and coatings can penetrate instead of just sitting on top.
 
Concrete often has:
A very smooth “cream” layer from finishing
Dirt, oils, or mineral deposits
Residual curing compounds
Closed pores that prevent coatings from penetrating
Acid etching lightly dissolves the top surface of the concrete, creating a rougher texture similar to fine sandpaper. That texture gives paint or epoxy something to grip onto.
